What's "New" in the All-New Ram 1500?

2019 is the year that Ram decided it was time for an overhaul of the 1500—and boy, did they deliver.

The 2019 version of the Ram 1500 debuted at the Detroit Auto Show in early January, and it turned out to be one of the biggest reveals.

When Ram introduced the 2019 Ram 1500 as "all-new," they weren't kidding. Nearly every facet of this truck is new or upgraded from the year before.

One of the most intriguing—and innovative—aspects of the all-new Ram 1500 is its inclusion of eTorque mild hybrid technology. This is integrated in the 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 and 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engines.

Thanks to this system, the new 1500 sees a significant rise in fuel efficiency. The eTorque technology is comprised of a belt-drive motor unit with a 48-volt battery pack, which allows start/stop function, short-term torque assist and brake energy regeneration.

However, this new tech isn't just a fuel-saver—it also maximizes power output. An additional 90 lb-ft of torque is added with the V6 and 130 lb-ft of torque with the V8.

Of course, what's a truck without the capability to venture off the map? The 2019 Ram 1500 offers a 4x4 Off-Road Package in almost every trim. Included is a one-inch suspension lift, an electronic-locking rear differential, hill-descent control, skid plates, and tow hooks.

Even the class-exclusive RamBox® cargo management system saw an upgrade. Now incorporated are two lockable and drainable storage bins as well as a 115-volt power outlet.

Another area of the Ram 1500 that received remarkable improvements is its cabin. In the center stack, top trims equip the award-winning, fourth-generation Uconnect system.

This feature is displayed on a class-exclusive 12-inch touchscreen, which also features split-screen technology that allows you to do two things at once if so desired.

The all-new SiriusXM with 360L offers more variety for drivers, and it can be heard through the crystal-clear 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. It bundles a 900-watt surround sound amplifier, a 10-inch subwoofer and active noise cancellation, making it the most powerful system available in a pickup.

Believe it or not, we've only covered about a fraction of what's new in the 2019 Ram 1500. There's still over 100 safety features, a new Ram logo, off-roading goodies, and more to swoon over.

Considering the latest additions and enhancements, this truck is well on its way to setting the standard in its full-size pickup class for the new model year.

In fact, Ram sums it up pretty well, "The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 becomes the benchmark for durability, technology, efficiency and convenience with features never before offered in a pickup."
