Volkswagen’s latest campaign features iPhone cases made from the dented, scratched, and crunched remains of car crashes.
In a striking new campaign from Volkswagen, the German automaker?s Swedish operations arm is selling iPhone 8 cases made completely out of the crushed remains of car crashes.
The Crashed Cases campaign aims to bring awareness to distracted driving and the downfall of texting or swiping or clicking while driving. At this point there are 153 of the $70 cases available, representing one for each of the car crashes since Sweden banned cell phone use while driving.

?You are 23 times more likely to be in a car accident if you text and drive, so it?s important to know how serious the matter is. We believe a phone case made by unfortunate cars makes you think twice before you pick up your phone. It will be like a silent reminder to keep focus on the road and not multitask while driving,” said Johan Karlson, Volkswagen Stockholm?s brand manager.
The cases are beautiful to look at, but are sad reminders of the cost of car crashes. Highlighted with dents and scratches, the cases are available online to Swedish buyers right now. And while $70 may seem hefty for a phone case the proceeds are going to fund a Swedish nonprofit that specializes in the rehab of car accident victims.
