Polaris' New RZR RS1 Takes Top Honors in Las Vegas

The brand new single-seater made a splashy debut at the WORCS season opener.

There's something to be said about making a grand entrance and ATV/Powersports brand Polaris is no exception. Just days after the commercial release of the all-new RZR® RS1, the single seater captured two first-place prizes at the WORCS season opener at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

The stripped down, nearly bone stock version of the RZR RS1, driven by Polaris Factory Racing athlete Ronnie Anderson, busted on to the scene in dramatic fashion over the weekend.

Anderson, who praised the off-road machine for its handling and power, took top honors in the Pro Side by Side classes, taking first place in the SxS Pro and Pro Stock classes, where it was matched up next to turbo vehicles.

As a team, Polaris is having a banner season with a 22-win 2017 in the rearview. The new year has already proven to be keeping up with that trend, including victories at the Desert and Short Course Races at the GMZ UTV Winter Nationals Casey Folks Parker 250. Next, Polaris moves on to the King of The Hammers race in Johnson Valley, California, in another opportunity to showcase what the RZR RS1 can do.

Just how nimble and streamlined is this new machine? First off it clocks in at just 64" wide. The RZR RS1 features a 110-HP ProStar 1000 H.O. 4-Stroke DOHC Twin Cylinder, a compact 83-inch wheelbase, upgraded drivetrain, and the RZR XP®1000's suspension.

The new precision-balanced chassis features a rear-mounted, dual-fan radiator for maximum engine cooling and a new race-hardened drivetrain for durability and instant power. The RZR XP 1000 trailing-arm suspension allows the vehicle to turn every bump and twist into a smooth driving experience.

Can just anyone drive this thing? Well, actually, yes, because the RZR RS1 is now available in dealerships nationwide. It also comes with 20 vehicle-specific accessories and kicks off at $13,999. The RZR RS1 is heading to the season-opening Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville on Saturday, May 19, where it will be the exclusive vehicle used in the new Red Bull Global Rallycross side-by-side class, Polaris GRC.
