Our Picks for the Most Compelling 2018 Auto Debuts

The upcoming 2018 auto debuts promise to bring several new concepts focused on efficiency, infotainment systems, and design languages.

From the "King of the Roadsters" BMW Concept Z4 to one of the most popular luxury SUVs, there is a 2018 auto debut in store for every automotive fan's taste.

Here are three of our top picks for most compelling 2018 auto debuts.

3. BMW M760i

The BMW M760i stays atop its perch as the 'Ultimate Driving Machine' with this new model. The first M-performance 7 Series comes with a massive V12 engine, 590 feet of torque, and 610 HP. It's also a speed demon, racing from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds - all the more impressive considering the car weighs more than 5,000 lbs.

This model blows away the previous BMW M760i with the choice of 6-cylinder, 8-cylinder, and hybrid configurations. Styling is also on point with its distinctive split mesh kidney grilles and curvy front hood contours.

2. BMW Concept Z4

In August 2017, BMW introduced its Z4 concept car at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event in California. It's an epic roadster on all fronts. Sitting on 20-inch light alloy wheels, styling characteristics include a shorter hood, low roofline, and redesigned overhangs that place the driver closer to the middle when driving.

It's kidney-shaped grill slants forward, low to the ground with its distinctive split mesh grill, a look popularized by BMW. Even its fresh coat of paint is new age, Dubbed "Energetic Orange Frozen," a concept in itself that is designed to accentuate the car's contours.

1. 2018 Range Rover Velar

Known as an offloading specialist, the Velar is a hybrid between the smaller Evoque and the Rover Sport. This all-new model offers the choice of five engines from a weak 4-cylinder diesel to a higher end 3.0-liter diesel V6.

Debuting at the New York Auto Show, many critics have raved its clean lines and futuristic look. Plus, its infotainment system is one of the best in its class with two 10-inch screens, helped by a heavily insulated cabin and no physical knobs or switches for a high definition yet minimalist look.

Those are what we've got on our radar, and we can't wait to see them for real once they're released.
