The state capital is overflowing with outdoor activities and live music. Go kayaking or paddle-boarding out on Ladybird Lake during the day and check out the live music scene on 6th Street at night. This city is a great alternative to exploring other big Texas cities such as Dallas or Houston.

This coastal beach town has a charming atmosphere that you'll want to submerge yourself into for a relaxing weekend. Lined with a boardwalk along its beaches, you'll have an array of fine dining to choose from while you bask in the gorgeous weather during your walk.

If you want to get off the mainland, a weekend in Hawaii is enough to explore Maui. The island is actually less crowded around that time, so this is your chance to experience beautiful sand beaches instead of just heading to your local water park.

If you want to explore the New England area, Cape Cod is a great alternative to other East Coast cities such as Boston, Massachusetts or Providence, Rhode Island. Take a boating tour, check out some of the historic districts in the area, and gorge in the amazingly fresh seafood.
