The Hyundai Genesis has won the Most Appealing Brand honor from J.D. Power and Associates, stopping Porsche’s 13-year reign.
Part of J.D. Power’s 2018 Automotive Performance Execution and Layout study, which qualifies how vehicle owners assess their vehicles after the first 90 days of ownership across 90 attributes in 10 categories related to layout, content, design, and performance.
Rounding out the top five were Porsche, BMW, Lincoln, and Mercedes-Benz. Previously, Porsche held the distinction for 13 consecutive years. This year, the Genesis scored 15 points higher while the Porsche scored one point less.
Not surprisingly, Mitsubishi achieved the lowest score.
The Genesis also performed very well in its Initial Quality Survey released earlier this month, rating in the top free alongside Hyundai and Kia with new vehicle owners reporting the least number of problems during the first 90 days of ownership.
