Honda Project P: A Concept Pickup Truck Based on the Civic...Really Though

The Honda Project P is a high-performance pickup truck concept with the Civic Type R.

This is like taking crossovers to a whole new level. The progeny of Honda's Swindon, U.K design factory, the site of its Civic hatchback production, Honda Project P uses a pre-production Type R with substantial mods, including a split at the B-pillar with a diamond-pattern steel covered truck bed, protruding rear wing out of the tailgate, a light mounted sports bar, and straight-curved combo wheel arches.

Specifications include an estimated sub-6 second 0-to-62 mph time with a top speed of 165 MPH. Three driving modes, Comfort, Sport, and +R, are also in.

"This Civic Type R Pickup Truck concept by the special team at our Swindon-based plant demonstrates the passion and commitment of the team there - going above and beyond outside working hours to deliver the final product," said Honda UK head of car design Phil Webb. "There are no plans to put this into production, but we will be using it to transport our lawn and garden products as and when required!"
