See Washington's True Colors at Flaming Geyser State Park

Once home to active methane seeps, the fire at Flaming Geyser State Park is no more. For better or worse, the park's bubbling geysers gave off their last toot of fossil fuel a little while back. But never fear! Without its methane source, the day-use park still has plenty of aquatic offerings to bestow upon guests.

Located in King County, just outside the Seattle-Tacoma area, this Washington state park is continuous with other natural areas such as Black Diamond Bridge Site, Green River Gorge State Park, and Kanaskat-Palmer State Park. In addition to these, it isn't far from other popular outdoor destinations like Nolte State Park and majestic Mt. Rainier National Park.

Whether you're driving in from nearby cities of Renton and Enumclaw, or biking all the way down from the big city, the following guide will tell you all you need to know about this Green River oasis.
