Diesel Everything! Cummins Releases New R2.8 Turbo Diesel Crate Engine

Finally, the Cummins R2.8 Turbo Diesel can be yours, for a price.

Do you have $9,000 burning a hole in your pocket and the yearning to pump diesel fuel through your gas tank? Well, Cummins has what you need!

After almost a year of waiting, diesel enthusiasts in the U.S. and Canada can finally get their hands on a Cummins R2.8 Turbo Diesel crate engine.

This 2.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine has been used for many years in numerous global applications (including commercial vehicles), but this engine is now certified for use in the U.S. and Canada.

In addition to being an ideal replacement for old, inefficient engines, this Cummins engine would make a perfect upgrade for any vehicle that could use loads of low-end torque... such as a Jeep Wrangler!

With 161 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, R2.8 Turbo Diesel has plenty of grunt.

Best of all, this kit costs just $8,999, but if you want one, you better get it soon or expect to wait; Cummins will only be shipping 500 of these diesel engines this year.

To make sure that there are no problems or surprises while installing your new diesel, Cumming has included items such as a dash display, throttle pedal, front-end accessory drive components (serpentine belt, alternator, power steering pump, etc), starter, flywheel, installation guide and an engine wiring harness with computer.

Cummins says that the only things not included are a battery, cooling system and diesel fuel.

At least for now, the crate engine is only available through Cummins, and you can go HERE to order one for yourself.
