Close to 50,000 BMW, MINIs and Rolls-Royces Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

Thousands of BMW and MINI vehicles have been recalled due to a fire risk.

In all, the recall affects 47,806 2011 and 2012 BMW, Mini, and Rolls Royces, with the issue caused by a faulty auxiliary water pump which causes the circuit board to overheat, which may result in a fire.

All affected owners are encouraged to park their cars outdoors until the recall is addressed.

Here is a complete list of all affected BMW, Mini, and Rolls Royce models.

BMW: 2011-2012 550i, 550i xDrive, 550i Gran Turismo, 550i Gran Turismo xDrive750i, 750Li, 750i xDrive, 750Li xDrive, 760Li, X5 xDrive50i, X5 M, X6 xDrive50i, X6 M, and ActiveHybrid7, as well as certain 2011 X6 Hybrid and 2012 650i Coupe, 650i xDrive Coupe, 650i Convertible, and 650i xDrive Convertible.

MINI: 2011-2012 Cooper S Convertible, John Cooper Works(JCW) Convertible, Cooper S Countryman, Cooper S Countryman ALL4, Cooper S, JCW Cooper S Clubman, JCW Clubman, Cooper S Roadster, JCW Roadster, Cooper S Coupe, and JCW Coupe.

Rolls-Royce: 2011-2012 Ghost

All owners of affected vehicles will be notified as of June 11, 2018, with a second notification once replacement parts are abatable, which will be installed by dealerships free of charge.
