If you needed another reason to attend a Red Bull GRC event this year, a Polaris RZR racing series is it!
Side-by-sides have carved out a unique niche among off-road enthusiasts, so it only makes sense that these vehicles gain more notoriety in motorsports.
As proof of this, Red Bull GRC - Red Bull Global Rallycross - recently announced that it will offer a third class at its events featuring Polaris RZR side-by-sides.
The new RZR class joins the existing Supercar and GRC Lites classes, which bring rally racing excitement to stadium-sized venues. Red Bull GRC has yet to reveal what the racing RZRs will look like or what drivers and liveries will be used, but this will be a great addition for GRC moving forward.
The 2018 Red Bull GRC season kicks off in May. Here is the full schedule with the doubleheader events marked with an asterisk:
Round 1: Louisville, KY (May 19-20)
Rounds 2-3: TBD (June 9-10)*
Round 4: New Orleans, LA (June 23-24)
Round 5: Los Angeles, CA (July 7-8)
Rounds 6-7: Indianapolis, IN (August 11-12)*
Rounds 8-9: Atlantic City, NJ (August 25-26)*
