There's something wonderfully retro about the wood paneling and distinctive features of a Jeep Wagoneer. The popular vehicles were produced from 1963 to 1993, but it looks like we'll see a modern version of the model sooner than later.
In an interview, Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Jeep's parent company Fiat, said he wanted to create a version that's meant for luxury-seekers. The 2019 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will be priced beginning at the $80,000 range. Models that come fully loaded could top out at nearly $130,000 to $140,000.
The new versions will be based off the Grand Cherokee, and will be positioned in direct competition with the Range Rover. Unfortunately, this means that this reimagined Wagoneer will be out of most car lovers' price ranges.
If the model takes off, it's likely that the company would create a line of Wagoneers with a wider price range. Still, it might not be as widely attainable as the original. It's also unclear whether or not Jeep plans to bring back the wood accents that fans love. "Woody" lovers will have to wait until later this year to see what exactly the company has in store for the classic model.
