Woman Charged with DUI After Carrying 15-Foot Tree That Was Stuck in Her Grille

A Chicago area woman was arrested and charged with a DUI after an officer spotted her driving with a large tree stuck in the grille of her car.

54-year-old Maryann Christy was pulled over on January 23, 2016 when a police officer noticed something peculiar sticking out of the front of her car: a 15-foot tall tree.

When the police received the call regarding a sedan with a tree in the grille it must have been a head scratching moment, but when the officer approached her on Central Avenue, his eyes must have popped out!

Here's what it looked like from the dash cam of the squad car:

Roselle Deputy Chief Roman Tarchala said "I've been in law enforcement for 28 years and I've never seen anything like it."

Christy was released on bond pending her next court appearance, but her troubles don't end there. The site of the original crash was located and she has now been charged with failure to report property damage and damage to public property.

The only question remaining is whether or not anyone got to keep the firewood.
