Honda Ridgeline Snags Best-in-Class Rating for 2019

One of the most intriguing entries in the midsize truck segment is back for the 2019 model year, and it now offers the largest-in-class cabin.

The Honda Ridgeline is the perfect blend of SUV and truck, but don't think it lacks in either respect—it still hauls considerably and features ample cabin room.

Honda comments, "The Ridgeline has the largest and most flexible cabin in the midsize pickup truck segment, and offers capabilities for both recreational and professional users who require a higher degree of utility and versatility."

In terms of passenger volume, you're looking at 109.7 cubic feet. Underneath the second row, the Ridgeline offers 2.9 cubic feet of storage space to stow your items. Seating for five comes standard across all trims.

Along with this increased interior volume, the 2019 Ridgeline boasts a few new amenities. The RT, Sport and RTL trims equip a second USB port, and the RTL and RTL-T models incorporate a power sliding rear window and a moonroof.

These additions join the already long list of equipment in the Ridgeline. Such features include an eight-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™ and three-zone climate control.

Touted as the "ultimate tailgate vehicle for sporting events, picnics, and other gatherings," this Honda truck still renders the features we know and love from previous model years:

  • Dual action tailgate
  • In-Bed Trunk®
  • In-bed 115-volt AC power outlet
  • World's first truck bed audio system

All of this pairs nicely with the Ridgeline's impressive class-leading payload capacity of 1, 584 pounds.

This truck also offers a maximum 5,000-pound towing capacity, which is made possible by the muscle beneath the hood: the 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6.

It delivers 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, along with a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available in place of standard two-wheel drive.

2019 Honda Ridgelines were rolled out to dealerships across the country early March. Starting MSRP is rated at $29,990, which is a fair asking price for a truck of this caliber.
