1st Annual Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam Looked Like a Success

The inaugural Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam gathered thousands of Jeep owners from across the country to celebrate.

Held this past April 14-15 at the former Myrtle Square Mall site in Myrtle Beach, N.C., the show comprised of 50-plus vehicles and the "4 Wheel Parts Proving Grounds," an off-road obstacle course with a ten-foot-deep mud pit.

Smaller events included a scavenger hunt, raffles, and an awards ceremony. Registration cost $5 with free admission to children under 12.

"We drive around Myrtle Beach, and we see Jeeps all the time. We see all these Jeep events popping up all across the east coast," said PJ Bernacki, director of Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam. " And Myrtle Beach is the perfect family-friendly destination for everyone to have a vacation, kick off the spring, summer with a good old Jeep festival."

Proceeds from the Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam will benefit the Special Operations Wounded Warrior program, an outdoor activities advocacy group for disabled veterans. Sponsors of the event included Toyo Tires, McDonald's, NAPA, Rigid, Ripleys, Big Snatch Off-Road, as well as various local restaurants and bars.
